Two popular Shonen Jump series, Kohei Horikoshi’s *My Hero Academia* and Gege Akutami’s *Jujutsu Kaisen*, have announced two-week hiatuses. They are set to return to Jump on July 1, 2024, coinciding with the release of the 31st issue in Japan this year.

While no specific reason is given for the *My Hero Academia* hiatus, the series recently entered its “epilogue” phase and plans to continue a bit longer.

Regarding *Jujutsu Kaisen*, Gege Akutami’s author notes mention a combination of poor health and a “strange condition.” Akutami did not provide further details on the latter.

*My Hero Academia* has been serialized in Jump since July 2014, nearing its 10th anniversary. *Jujutsu Kaisen*, which began in March 2018, has hinted at the possibility of ending sometime this year.

Here’s how VIZ Media describes *Jujutsu Kaisen*:

Although Yuji Itadori appears to be an ordinary teenager, his immense physical strength is remarkable! Every sports club wants him to join, but Itadori prefers to hang out with the school outcasts in the Occult Research Club. One day, the club acquires a sealed cursed object. Little do they know the terror they will unleash when they break the seal…
