The *Black Butler* manga will soon be reaching its climax, but before that, it's taking a break. Square Enix's *G Fantasy* magazine shared this news online, along with a note from manga creator Yana Toboso. There's nothing to worry about with this hiatus, as Toboso is not sick or hurt. Instead, she’s using the break to conduct research and prepare for the series' conclusion.
The duration of the hiatus is currently unknown, but *G Fantasy* magazine will provide updates in the future.
*Black Butler* made its debut nearly twenty years ago, in 2006. The manga's popularity led to an anime adaptation, which has also seen its own hiatuses. The anime has returned with *Black Butler -Public School Arc-*, available on Crunchyroll.
Yen Press publishes the *Black Butler* manga in English and provides this description for the first volume:
*Just a stone’s throw from London lies the manor house of the illustrious Phantomhive earldom, its master one Ciel Phantomhive. Earl Phantomhive is a giant in the world of commerce, Queen Victoria’s faithful servant . . . and a slip of a twelve-year-old boy. Fortunately, his loyal butler, Sebastian, is ever at his side, ready to carry out the young master’s wishes. And whether Sebastian is called to save a dinner party gone awry or probe the dark secrets of London’s underbelly, there is practically nothing Sebastian cannot do. In fact, one might even say Sebastian is too good to be true . . . or at least, he is too good to be human . . .*
While waiting for new *Black Butler* chapters, fans can check out a recent interview by *Otaku USA* with J. Michael Tatum and Brina Palencia about reprising their roles as Sebastian Michaelis and Ciel Phantomhive in the anime's English dub.
