The 26th season of the Pokémon anime series, Pokémon Horizons: The Series, serves as both a continuation and a soft reboot, introducing new protagonists Liko and Roy to take the spotlight from Ash Ketchum. Set in the Paldea region, inspired by the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games, the series debuted in Japan on April 14, 2023, and has aired 40 episodes to date.

While the change in the main cast brings a fresh perspective to the series, the inclusion of Captain Pikachu adds a touch of familiarity for longtime fans. The English dub of the anime premiered in the UK on December 4 via BBC iPlayer. Originally slated for release on Netflix in late February 2024, the premiere was delayed until its new release date of March 7, 2024.
