A new, action-packed trailer has dropped for *My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You’re Next*. The trailer announces the movie’s theme song, titled “Homunculus” and performed by Vaundy, giving fans a preview of the track.

The movie is set to hit Japanese theaters on August 2. It features an all-new story and new characters, rather than being based directly on the manga. However, *My Hero Academia* creator Kohei Horikoshi is involved in a supervisory role and is credited with original character design. The storyline is set around the same time as the events currently unfolding in the TV anime.

This will be the fourth *My Hero Academia* movie, following *My Hero Academia: Two Heroes* (2018), *My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising* (2019), and *My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes’ Mission* (2021). There is no word yet on when *My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You’re Next* will be available to American viewers or if it will receive a big screen release in the U.S.

*My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You’re Next* is produced by BONES, with Tensai Okamura (*Darker than Black*) directing. The script is written by Yosuke Kuroda, who has extensive writing credits throughout the *My Hero Academia* franchise.

VIZ Media publishes the original manga by Kohei Horikoshi and describes the first volume as follows:

*Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny…*
